Meet Our Founder

Greg Ferguson is the founder and chief executive officer of Higher Plane Consulting. Greg is responsible for the management of all of Higher Plane and its services to the marketplace. He primarily works with firms in matters of organization, strategic planning, and talent development.  Greg is driven by a passion to help others help themselves, and this passion shows up in every area of his life. Greg’s experience in conducting seminars and speaking nationally and internationally, coupled with an enthusiastic style, makes him an effective and highly regarded speaker and facilitator. He delivers his material so that it applies directly to professionals at work, at home, and in their social lives. 

The information in Greg’s courses and programs is a collection of knowledge that he has assembled over more than 30 years of consulting, speaking in public, teaching, and leading organizations. He has studied the structures and tactics of classic speeches throughout the centuries from Aristotle’s time to the present, distilled those practices to find their commonalities, and applied his own experience to produce courses of instruction that will help anyone wanting to improve their leadership, management, and communication skills. He has taught in North and South America, Europe, and Asia, and has received the highest award possible from Toastmasters International--the Distinguished Toastmaster. He has also captured his knowledge in his book How to Give Your Best Speech or Presentation Ever. 

Greg received his bachelor’s degree in business from Baylor University and his MBA from Old Dominion University. He served 8 years on active duty in the US Navy where he flew F-14s on board the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier. He flew 48 combat missions in the first Persian Gulf War and was awarded two Air Medals for flying in the face of enemy fire. Greg draws upon his experiences as a military flight officer as well as his experiences as a business owner, speaker, author, trainer, coach, and father of three to make his presentations and engagements enjoyable, relevant, and memorable.
